They cannot be controlled directly. Instead, you can manipulate resources, place buildings, and specify the number of jobs in each. Residents of distant lands will decide for themselves who will work, who will live in which house, and what buildings to build.

You can nudge them in the right direction by prioritizing specific tasks or issuing game-changing edicts, such as making people work longer or reducing resource consumption. Just remember: edicts often make your followers unhappy, so be careful...

Unlike other games of a similar style, the campaign in Outlanders is a series of levels of increasing difficulty, each with its own objectives and story, as you progress through which you will unlock new buildings and gameplay features.

You will find the story of charming, eccentric and mostly good-natured city rulers who try to realize their whims and dreams until fate brings them together after a series of amazing, sometimes funny and often touching coincidences.

If the challenges seem too difficult for you, and the inhabitants of distant lands seem too picky, you can relax in the sandbox mode, where only your imagination rules the roost.

You will be able to play with a full set of buildings and game mechanics from the start, as well as change the rules and settings of the game map.

Create themed cities, set goals to your taste or come up with a challenge to your liking. The game will be the way you want it to be. Give free rein to your imagination!
