Approximately Up is a climbing game built entirely around imprecision. You are trying to get higher, the controls are deliberately awkward, and the physics will happily undo twenty minutes of careful progress in a single ungraceful second. It sits in the lineage of rage-platformers that treat falling as the main mechanic rather than a punishment, but it is funnier and more forgiving about it than most.

🧗 Climb With Bad Controls, On Purpose

Movement is physics-driven and intentionally imprecise, so every ascent is a negotiation rather than an execution. Mastery is real but it is mastery of a wobbly system, and the game gets a lot of mileage out of the gap between what you intended and what happened.

There are no checkpoints protecting you from a bad grab. Losing height is constant, expected and built into the pacing, and the tension of approaching a section you have already fallen from twice is where the whole thing lives.
