Yakuza Kiwami is a ground-up remake of the original Yakuza, rebuilt in the engine used for Yakuza 0 and covering the story that started everything. Kazuma Kiryu takes the fall for a murder he did not commit, walks out of prison ten years later, and finds Kamurocho unrecognisable, his clan fractured and ten billion yen missing. It is the leanest entry in the series and the best place to begin, and this Mac build runs the whole thing natively.

🐉 The Story That Started It All

Kiryu returns to a district that has moved on without him, looking for the woman who disappeared and the child at the centre of everything. The plot is tighter and more focused than later entries, and the remake fills in gaps the 2005 original left by weaving in characters from Yakuza 0.

🥊 Four Fighting Styles

Brawler, Rush, Beast and the returning Dragon of Dojima style each handle completely differently, and switching between them mid-fight is the core skill. Dragon style has to be rebuilt over the course of the game, which turns your own signature moveset into a progression system.

😈 Majima Everywhere

Goro Majima stalks Kiryu across the entire city, ambushing him from behind traffic cones, out of manholes and in the middle of unrelated errands. It is absurd, it never stops, and beating him is how Dragon style grows.

🏙️ Kamurocho In Detail

A compact, dense district packed with distractions — hostess clubs, pocket circuit racing, batting cages, karaoke, mahjong, arcades and a long list of substories that swing between genuinely moving and completely ridiculous.

🎭 Serious And Silly At Once

The main plot is a straight-faced crime drama about loyalty and betrayal, and the side content is anything but. The series' tonal whiplash is fully formed here, and the game is confident enough to make both halves work.
