Thief: Master Thief Edition (2025) — Free Download for Mac

Thief is not a continuation of the previous parts, as the Thief series was rebooted with the release of Thief. The gameplay is based on "choices". In the levels, Garrett has several possible paths and approaches.

The hero can use the environment and steal from characters. If guards and other NPCs notice that Garrett is trying to steal something, he is in danger. Different NPCs will look for the hero in different ways. The artificial intelligence is familiar with level design, so its behavior will be modeled using different algorithms.

The fictional world of Thief is influenced by the aesthetics of steampunk and the Victorian era. Unlike the previous parts, there are no factions of the Guardians, Hammerites, and Pagans. The action takes place several centuries after the events of the last game, and therefore these organizations have long since fallen into decline and were forgotten, although the old churches and the Hammerite Cathedral remain as a historical monument.

The game world locations are similar to those in Thief: Deadly Shadows. There are also glyphs, zombies, a mental hospital "Moira's Haven" (where you can find the mechanical eye of "old" Garrett), the god of the Pagans - Trickster (Temptor), who appeared in the first part of the game, is mentioned. The city is ruled by Baron Northcrest, who wants to make an industrial revolution. Garrett lives in the Clock Tower, not in a rented apartment, and the City itself is divided into two warring factions: the Guard and the Lighted.

An important role is played by the magical energy of Primal, thanks to which people gain superpowers, at the cost of their sanity and human appearance.

Compared to the original version, this edition includes a lot of new and varied content:

Opportunist Bonus Pack: Increases your quiver capacity and contains additional Choking Arrows, Poppy Flowers, and Gold.

Bank Heist: In this mission, you will have to infiltrate the most secure location in the City - the First Bank of Stonemarket. Bypass the bank's unique security systems to steal the coveted Star of Oldale.
